Dawn is a magical time for me as a photographer. While the sun hasn't yet risen above the horizon, it shines just enough light on the night sky to splash some purple and red on an otherwise deep blue canvas.
Dawn, Cherry Blossoms, and the Washington Monument
In the image above, you may notice the scaffolding covering the Washington Monument. It's currently undergoing repairs required due to significant damage that was caused by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake that occurred back in August 2011.
