In October, I visited the Finger Lakes region of New York State. I saw a lot of great things while I was there. The most notable was the gorge in Watkins Glen State Park. The gorge is absolutely stunning! I visited early in the morning on a weekday, which helped me avoid big crowds. It was also raining and I got very wet, but the rain was fortuitous. The rain kept the crowds at bay, made everything damp, cut down the glare, and made the autumn colors pop!

The Watkins Glen features meany narrow paths with stairs that takes you through miles of gorge, featuring many beautiful sights. The most photographed portion of the gorge might be Rainbow Falls (above). I was thrilled with my photo of Rainbow Falls. It's gorgeous, but I especially like my photo of Central Cascade (below).

There are also many other beautiful sights in the area. I captured the following of Seneca Harbor, just as the sun was burning off the morning fog:

Ithaca is a short drive from Watkins Glen. I enjoyed walking around the campus of Cornell University, which is also quite beautiful in autumn. Here's a photo I took of a stone bridge over Beebe Lake in the heart of campus:

At the other end of Beebe Lake, I took this photo of Triphammer Falls, which is a common sight for many students as they go about their daily lives on campus:
