On May 2, 2020, the United States Air Force demonstration squadron (the Thunderbirds) and the United States Navy demonstration squadron (the Blue Angels) conducted a 20-minute joint flyover of Washington, D.C., as a salute to frontline COVID–19 responders. The Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels are rarely seen performing together.
